My name is Adebola Fadina. I am Originally from the Bronx, NY but recently moved update New York. Since I was young, I’ve always held interest in all aspects of art and design. I always used drawing as an outlet to express myself at times where words couldn’t. In middle school I attended a school that specialized in theater arts.
While there I gained interested in both visual arts and costumer design. After studying these subjects, I knew wanted my primary focus to be within the fashion industry. Going into college I studied business, eventually obtaining my B.A. in Economics. Though my undergraduate degree wasn’t in the field of art, my interest in the subject were not affected.
I chose M.A. Design Studies because I feel it will as a permanent bridge between my academic background and personal interests. I also feel like strong knowledge of design is essential in our era. We are in a generation where ideas are easily outdated by new creations and innovations. I believe the creative thought, and design process of any product is the most vital part of its creation. Moving forward, I’d like to work in either merchandising or product development.
I believe the combination of this program, and my previous experiences will provide me with the foundation needed to succeed in the of design.
