Helena Hernmarck’s studio in Ridgefield, CT

MA History of Design and Curatorial Studies alumni Mae Colburn (c/o ’16) is taking part in Helena Hernmarck: Weaving In Progress, an upcoming exhibition showcasing the textile work of Helena Hernmark at the Aldrich Museum, Ridgefield, CT.  During Weaving in Progress, the gallery space will not only exhibit a selection of tapestries, but also function as a weaving studio while Hernmarck is in residence from October 14, 2018, to January 13, 2019. Three days a week, Mae will be working with Hernmarck as an apprentice at the artist’s five-foot-wide Glimåkra Countermarch loom. A soft-cover scholarly publication with essays by Richard Klein and Mae Colburn will also be available during the exhibition.
