The Twenty-Third Annual Voorsanger Symposium: The Publics of Art and Design will feature a symposium addressing questions of public sentiment, religion, and the architecture of public buildings with an especial focus on the functions of museums and other art and design display spaces.
Also a series of papers will be delivered by graduate students and faculty from universities around the world, exploring questions of how design is a dialogue between objects and different publics.
The keynote address will be given by Professor Michele Bogart of Stony Brook University.

The symposium is sponsored by the MA Program in the History of Decorative Arts and Design, School of Art and Design History and Theory, Parsons The New School for Design in conjunction with: Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution with the additional support of: donations to the Catherine Hoover Voorsanger memorial fund.
