In 2009/2010 Zhijian Qian organized a series of panel discussions to coincide with the exhibition Here and Now: Chinese Artists in New York at the Museum of Chinese in America. The first, “Chinese Artists in New York and Chinese Artists in China” took place on Saturday Oct. 10, 2009, 3:00-5:00pm and consisted of the panelists Richard Vine, Lin Yan and Cui Fei,. The second, “Chinese Artists and Chinese Communities in New York” took place on Saturday Dec. 12, 2009, 3:00-4:30pm and included panelists Zhang Hongtu, Ming Fei, Shiyi Sheng, Long-bin Chen and moderator Lilly Wei. The third panel discussion, “Chinese Artists and the Art World of New York” is scheduled to take place on Saturday Mar. 6, 2010, 3:00-4:30pm and will include panelists organized by Jonathan Goodman, Emily Cheng, Shen Chen, YoYo Xiao and moderator Eric Jiaju Lee.
