CUTTER DESIGNER CUTTER: CUTTING AS DESIGN
A Conversation with Shelley Fox and Juliana Sissons,
Moderated by Dr. Christina Moon
Tuesday, August 30, 2016
5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
UL105, 63 Fifth Avenue, University Center
The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Christina Moon, Assistant Professor in MA Fashion Studies, in the Parsons School of Art and Design History and Theory.
The presentation is an examination of both the designer and the pattern cutter’s working process in the designing of clothing. By referencing specific collections from the Shelley Fox clothing archive, both speakers attempt to communicate their working process by highlighting key topics. This conversation serves to deepen the understanding of the fashion community, including academia and students, and the complexities and possibilities that occur in building a working relationship with designers and pattern cutters.
The event is free, followed by a reception.
