Parsons School of Art and Design History and Theory welcomes, celebrates,
and offers a congratulatory toast to its new graduates.
Yesterday, on Thursday, May 21, fifty one graduating students from the School of Art and Design History and Theory were celebrated for their hard work and dedication in the M.A. programs for Fashion Studies, Design Studies, and History of Design and Curatorial Studies. The ceremony, which took place in Theresa Lang Center, commenced with opening remarks by Executive Dean of Parsons Joel Towers and Dean of ADHT Sarah E. Lawrence. In addition to speeches by each of the M.A. program directors–Sarah Lichtman, Christina Moon, and Susan Yelavich–the event was filled with advice from the students themselves. Voted by their peers to be class speakers, Carolina Valdes-Lora (HDCS), Verónica Uribe Del Águila (MADS); and Stephanie Herold (MAFS) each imparted their own words of farewell.

Departmental Honors were awarded to Roi Baron, Maleyne Syracuse, and Carolina Valdes-Lora from History of Design and Curatorial Studies, and Design Studies’ Rachel Meade Smith and Verónica Uribe Del Águila. Sarah Lichtman was honored with a 2015 Distinguished Teaching Award. Other students who were honored at the ceremony are listed below.
