This weekend, Parsons will present the first international conference on the state of black culture in art and design education. Organized by Coco Fusco, interdisciplinary artist, writer, and Director of Intermedia Initiatives at Parsons, and Yvonne Watson, Associate Professor and Director of Academic Affairs, Parsons’ School of Fashion, this conference will serve as a forum for reflection on the troubling gap that persists between the significance of Black creativity in global culture and its presence in art and design education.
