On Thursday, November 6 at 12PM, author Rhonda K. Garelick will discuss her biography of Coco Chanel entitled Mademoiselle: Coco Chanel and the Pulse of History at 92Y on Lexington Avenue and 92nd Street. The book describes the construction of Chanel’s brand and image, what Garelick terms “wearable personality,” and tracks her life from her childhood spent in poverty to her ultimate status as a fashion icon. At the event, Garelick will explore the parallels between Chanel’s designs and the political conditions under which they were created. A book signing will follow the talk.
The event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased here for $24: http://www.92y.org/Event/Coco-Chanel-and-Pulse-of-History.aspx
