On April 23rd, The School of ADHT and MA Fashion Studies celebrated the publication of the new issue of the journal Fashion Projects, a print and online journal on fashion, art, and visual culture.

Fashion Projects 3 is dedicated to exploring the intersection of fashion and memory. It features interviews such as “Fashion as Expanded Practice: An Interview with Shelley Fox” and “Experiments in Fashion Curation: An Interview with Judith Clark.”  Fashion Projects 3 is now available in newstands and bookstores in North America, and at http://www.fashionprojects.org/wp-content/themes/fashionprojects/ordering_info.html.

At the publication launch, ADHT and Fashion studies were also excited to present a screening of short experimental films on the topic of fashion and memory. Our screening included films by the British-based fashion design duo Boudicca, Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf, designer Shelley Fox, and fashion photographer Laura Sciacovelli. The screening was curated by Tamsen Schwartzman and Francesca Granata.

Fashion Projects began in New York in 2004, with the aim to create a platform to highlight the importance of fashion – especially ‘experimental’ fashion – within current critical discourses. Through interviews with a range of artists, designers, writers and curators, as well as through other planned projects and exhibits, we hope to foster a dialogue between theory and practice across disciplines.
