Civic Engagement, Activism and Art

blocksawayOn February 23rd, Radhika Subramaniam will be speaking on a panel entitled, “Civic Engagement, Activism and Art”, which will examine the expansion of interest in civic engagement and civic education throughout The New School.  Organized by Kate Eichhorn and Judy Mejia, the panel will explore how The New School’s community approaches the questions called forth by these subjects.   Other participants will be Laura Liu, from Urban Studies at Lang, and Laura Elrick, the writer/performer who developed the piece Blocks Away as part of Eichhorn’s class, Civic Action and Interruption.

The panel, exhibition, and course are part of Eichhorn’s project, Felt Change — The Affective Dimension of Civic Action, supported by The Spencer Foundation’s Civic Learning and Civic Action grants program.
